When does Light No Fire release?

Confirmed information
Light No Fire is Hello Games' next project after No Man's Sky, announced at The Game Awards 2023 by studio founder Sean Murray and still without a confirmed release date as of mid-2026. Unlike No Man's Sky's countless procedural galaxies, Light No Fire focuses on a single Earth-sized fantasy planet — roughly 197 million square miles by some estimates — that every player shares and explores together, combining survival, building, and RPG-style combat with swords, bows, and magic.

Hello Games
Hello Games has described the project around four design pillars: a multiplayer Earth, a procedural Earth, a fantasy Earth, and an unexplored Earth. The whole planet streams together seamlessly — the studio has said players can sail across an ocean, dock a ship, and climb a mountain without a loading screen — and features persistent player-built settlements and communities.
After No Man's Sky's rocky 2016 debut following a long, hype-heavy marketing cycle, Hello Games has deliberately kept Light No Fire's public presence quiet, with only a small team confirmed to be working on it alongside the studio's ongoing No Man's Sky support. This makes a firm release window hard to pin down even this deep into development.
