Townfall marks a shift for the series to a first-person perspective, with Simon defending himself using melee weapons like planks and pipes, using stealth to run, distract, or hide from monsters, and relying on a handheld device called the CRTV to detect nearby threats and pick up signals that reveal plot information.
Unlike some other recent Silent Hill releases, Townfall has been confirmed for PC and PlayStation 5 only, with no Xbox version announced as of its 2026 marketing push.
