Confirmed information
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is the eighteenth mainline entry in Nintendo's tactical RPG series, developed by Intelligent Systems and releasing September 17, 2026 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 — with no original Switch version planned. Set on the continent of Dagda in the Dagdan Empire, a land ruled by gods for 1,500 years, it centres on the Heroic Games: a gladiatorial tournament held in the capital Dagsion whose winner is granted a single wish.

Switch 2
Like Three Houses, Fortune's Weave uses a multi-route structure where you pick one of four leads and follow their version of events: Cai, a boy fighting to free his imprisoned father; Dietrich, a swordsman chasing stronger opponents; Theodora, a queen pursuing her homeland's long-held dream; and Leda, a musician seeking revenge.
Between tournament matches you can train at the training grounds, strengthen bonds to recruit allies, and travel beyond Dagsion's walls for extra battles and dungeons. The game shares a world with the Fódlan setting of Three Houses in a different era — an aged Sothis appears in trailers, and Three Houses character designer Chinatsu Kurahana returns, though Koei Tecmo was not involved this time.
