Confirmed information
Corsair Cove is a single-player city builder set in the closing years of the Golden Age of Piracy, developed by German studio Limbic Entertainment and published by Hooded Horse. You govern a pirate haven raised across cliffs and rocky islands, running production chains, keeping a rowdy population content, and sending fleets out to explore and fight. It launched on 31 July 2026 for Windows PC and is on PC Game Pass from day one. No console version has been announced.

The main departure from the genre is terrain. Instead of laying out a settlement on an open plain, you build up and across cliff faces, rock formations and islands, so a colony sprawls in height as much as in area. That constraint reshapes the usual planning problem: routing goods between levels and finding buildable surfaces matter as much as deciding what to build.
Advancement is split across Notoriety, Empire, Seafaring and Wealth. Investing in each unlocks its own buildings, the production chains attached to them, and stronger ships, so the order you pursue them in effectively picks your playstyle — whether you lean toward naval strength, economic depth or open confrontation with the Crown.
Corsair Cove is a Windows PC title, available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG and the Microsoft Store, and included with PC Game Pass from launch. Neither Limbic Entertainment nor Hooded Horse has announced a PlayStation, Xbox console or Switch version, so treat console talk as speculation for now. A free demo went out ahead of release covering the settlement-building and logistics systems.
Player response has been strong: Steam user reviews sit around 87% positive across roughly 950 reviews shortly after launch. Limbic Entertainment is best known for Tropico 6, another management title, and built Corsair Cove in Unreal Engine 5. Hooded Horse is a publisher that specialises specifically in strategy and simulation releases.
